About me

YOGYATĀ

by Jacqueline Albers Thomasen

About me and my background

The sanskrit word Yogyatā can be translated into "worthiness", "ability" or "vocation". These are all aspects of my own yoga practise and the practices I offer. I wish to awaken souls and set spirit free in an everyday life based on worthiness, ability and vocation in ones life. On this spiritual path I invite not just to connect to the light from the sun on the surface, but also to befriend the dark and invisible shadows from the depth of our being.

I have a wide background based on university studies, teacher trainings, workshops and online studies. I hold a masters degree in psychology and a 500 RYT based in Rasa Yoga and Anusara Yoga. My studies as a yoga teacher counts:

2018              The Recognition Sutras w. Christopher Wallis

2016              40 Days Awakening Challenge w. Christopher Wallis (Hareesh)

2015- 2016    300 hours Rasa Yoga Teacher Training w. Sianna Sherman

2015              30 hours Teacher Enchament Module w. Elena Brower

2012              100 hours Anusara Yoga Immersion w. Sianna Sherman

2011-2012     200 hours Teacher Traning w. Hamsa Yogastudio

Furthermore I have attended several workshops and studied meditation with Andrea Boni, Sally Kempton. I have studied Mindfulness with Jon Kabat-Zin.

I owe a deep respect to all of my teachers Sianna Sherman, Soham Johansen, Simon Krohn, Nanna Wagner Nielsen, Christopher Wallis, Leila Sadegree, Chris Chavez, Tara Judelle and Elena Brower. The deepest gratitude though -  goes to all the fierce students attending the path and still shows me the way.

As a psychological consultant I offer leadership development, coping with stress, and finding your way in career and worklife. I offer a range of consultancy work and have developed a leadership-programme partly based on yoga practise and philosophy. You can find more information regarding this here.

I offer regular yoga classes, teacher training, Immersions, workshops, retreats and specially designed events. As a teacher I am known to hold space in a heartfelt, grounded, fun and challenging way.

I enjoy sharing all aspects of yoga based on Tantrik philosophy that can make us connect to the amazing powers of our being in Life.

In my teachings you can experience fierce and playful - as well as sweet, soothing and grounding asana practises. I love to share the powers of chant, meditation, mudras, myths and contemplation
